THE MINISTRY OF JESUS PART 3blueline.gif (2626 bytes)

Scriptures: I John 3:8; Luke 4:14-21; Isaiah 10:27;11:2; Acts 10:38; Phil. 2:12;I Cor. 9:27;

II Cor. 5:17

  1. The purpose of Jesus' ministry was to render powerless the works of the devil. Therefore, no dominion or power has to dominate any believer. Jesus was anointed with the spirit of wisdom, understanding, knowledge, might, and counsel. The same anointing that was on Jesus is also on believers. That anointing will give us the wisdom to know how to deal with our children, marriages or whatever challenges we are facing. The anointing of God will remove burdens and destroy yokes, and there is no situation or circumstances that we are not anointed for. Isa. 11:2, I John 3:8
  2. The Spirit of the Lord was upon Jesus to preach the gospel to the poor. This is not just financial poverty. Poverty begins with being separated from God. Jesus came to restore that which had been broken because of sin. The good news is that God has reconciled us to the Lord Jesus Christ. The good news is that we are saved, we have favor with God and all of our needs are met, plus abundance beside -- prosperity comes. Luke 4:8, II Cor. 5:17
    1. God has made us all different; He has made some of us brown, fair, olive, and red, etc. God has liberated us. It's time to have our minds not focused on us. When we segregated ourselves, we impoverish ourselves. Jesus has set us free from prejudice. Luke 4:8
    2. Jesus came to heal our hurts and broken hearts. People are still allowing their past to effect their present and their future. God loves us regardless of what may have happened to us in the past. There is nothing we can do to make Him love us less. We have to forget what have happened to us in 1996, and decide this year is going to be like heaven. Lk. 4:18.
    3. We have to work out our own salvation. Salvation in the Greek text means deliverance. Our own deliverance is on the inside of us. We work it out by speaking the Word of God and by making the decision to let go of our past. If we don't, the devil will remind us of what happened five years ago; it may be true but it doesn't have to dominate our lives. Let's make up our minds what we will do. If God is God, then go with Him. Don't get run over by a tractor truck Become a tractor truck yourself. Phil. 2:12, I Cor. 9:27.
