THE MINISTRY OF JESUS PART 2blueline.gif (2626 bytes)

Scriptures: Luke 4:13-21; Romans 8:29; Isa. 10:27, 11:2; 61:1; II Cor. 2:14, 5:17, 21; Gal. 31:26; Eph. 1:3-7, 1:13, 2:6-7; Lev. 25:8-13
  1. Jesus is 100% God and 100% man. This is called the hypostatic union. Jesus operated as man on the earth anointed by Spirit of God. God cannot be born; God cannot die. But a man can be born and a man can die. Therefore, God wrapped himself in flesh and came to the earth as the only begotten Son. In Luke 4:18, Jesus shows us how to operate in the Word of God. How? He found himself in the Scripture. Luke 4:13-21
  2. Begotten means to be born of. Jesus was born of God. Jesus was the only begotten Son but He is no longer the only Son. Romans 8:29 says, "... that He might be the firstborn among many brethren." First born means there can be others. The Father gave us the same standing as sons. The reason we get in Heaven is because we are members of the Family of God. We didn't do anything to earn that position, but it was because Jesus was willing to sacrifice himself for us that we may become sons of God. Romans 8:29
  3. Luke 4:18 says, "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me..." Isaiah 11:2 tells us of the anointing that Jesus functions in: the spirit of wisdom, the spirit of understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, and the spirit of knowledge provides information on what is happening in the spiritual and the natural realm. The anointing is wrapped up in these. The anointing hates sin, pride, arrogance and the evil way. This anointing is given to us. And we need this anointing to carry out the ministry that God placed in us. Isa. 11:2; Luke 4:18
  4. Jesus found what the scripture said about himself. He is our example. Therefore; how do we find out about ourselves in the Scripture? Everywhere in the New Testament that says, "in Him, in Christ, or in whom," is referring to us. In studying these Scriptures we will find that we are the righteousness of God, (I Cor. 1:30), we are triumphant (II Cor. 2:14), we are new creatures; people without a past ( II Cor. 5: 17,21), we are children of God; we are in the family (Gal 31:26 ). When we study these Scriptures, we will find out what to do and who we are in Christ.
  5. Luke 4:19 tells us that Jesus had a 6-fold ministry. The sixth mission was to preach the acceptable year of the Lord. What is the acceptable year of the Lord? It is the year of jubilee (Lev. 25:8-13). Whatever the canker worm has eaten we will get it all back. Satan have no right to keep what belongs to us. We are free in Him because He is anointed. That anointing will help us to do what we need to do. Declare your freedom.
